If you are a kombucha lover, you’ve probably seen a kombucha scoby, the thick, slimy, and cloudy mass that aids the fermentation process. Kombucha scoby is very similar to bio cellulose, made from a similar bacteria species.
The difference is that bio cellulose is made in a highly controlled lab, sheet by sheet. And they are thoroughly cleaned before they can be used as masks.
Even though kombucha scoby and bio cellulose are twins, you shouldn’t put the former on your face because it still contains active bacteria, which can cause infections. Plus, you’ll get a vinegar-like smell that may drive the boys away!
